Let’s face it ladies, buying your wedding dress is probably the most important personal purchase you can make. With so much choice out there, it can be hard to make the final decision. So here are some do’s & don’ts when it comes to buying your wedding dress!

DO….research the bridal boutiques you would like to visit, what styles and sizes do they carry? If you are a plus size bride pick stores that stock plus size so you have a range of dresses to try on.

DON’T… presume every boutique stock plus size, you will be surprised how many don’t.

DO…come prepared e.g bring a pair of shoes the same height you intend to wear on your wedding day, wear a nude colour strapless bra and spanx if you feel that you will need them.

DON’T… wear coloured underwear, they will show up under the dresses and ruin the look.

DO…bring one or two people who you love and trust i.e close friends and family. They want the best for you and will help you make the right choice.

DON’T BRING 100’S OF PEOPLE TO YOUR APPOINTMENTS!!The more people there are, the more conflicting opinions there will be. CHOOSE YOUR ENTOURAGE WISELY!

DO…visit 3-5 shops max.

DON’T… confuse yourself by visiting 20 shops, it will take the fun out of the whole experience.

DO…listen to your bridal consultant. They might suggest a style that you may not necessarily pick yourself…

Don’t… limit your choice by ruling out particular styles. Stay open minded, very often brides go for the total opposite of what they originally wanted.

Do… stop searching when you find the dress.

Don’t… continue shopping despite having fallen in love with a dress. If you are comparing everything to the dress then it’s your dress!

Hope this helps…

Thanks MK x
